Suzy Hannabuss was born and raised in the beautiful surroundings of Connecticut, USA. She spent most of her college years and 20’s living in the great city of Boston, Massachusetts, where she worked in the Aviation industry. This work put Suzy in the fortunate position to travel to such places as Peru, Russia and South Africa – places which have often proven the inspiration of her work.

After moving around the states trying to find where she wanted to put down some roots, Suzy met her husband on a business trip to London. Soon after they met, they were married in true whirlwind romantic style and settled into living in the city of Bristol, UK, running their own aviation charter company.

From a young age, Suzy, like most girls, was fascinated with jewellery. She recalls saving up her first $100 to buy an antique opal ring at the age of 15. “I had to do loads of extra chores for quite some time to reach that amount, but I was determined.”

Suzy often thought of taking special classes to get started in making her own jewellery but, with such a demanding work and personal life, never seemed to find the time. When she arrived in Bristol, she had loads of time so decided to have a go at it and felt immediately hooked and says, “Now I’m kicking myself wishing I had started earlier!”

Taking time out for herself to make these exquisitely crafted pieces has proven to be both relaxing and exhilarating in equal measure who says, “And of course I have the best quality checker…my son, Max. He loves to get his hands on the pieces and have a go himself!”
